A Gen'ral Motors Lobbyist
Being sung to Gilbert & Sullivan's 'The Modern Major General'
(I am the very pattern of a modern Major-Gineral)

I am the latest model of a Gen'ral Motors lobbyist,
And now I'm being touted as an automotive hobbyist
Who's crying uncontrollably at the prospect Hydra-Matic
Could ever be upgraded by anything that automatic
Without a cash infusion from a body so professional
It draws no inspiration from the new Greenspan confessional.
Don't fire the G.M. CEO. Don't fire their whole damn board.
They need more dough from Harry Reid to supplement their hoard.
Not only am I now a phony automotive hobbyist,
I am the latest model of a Gen'ral Motors lobbyist,

I'm compensated very well as are all the others.
Just like G.M. management, a well paid band of brothers.
So it would be a doggone shame to discontinue their largesse.
For lacking a compliant Congress, oh, the Neiman Marcus stress.
We're going to need more billions for more millions for the bosses
Who've demonstrated special skills at generating G.M. losses
While paying themselves handsomely, providing lovely parachutes
That bankruptcy would not allow without a Congress in cahoots.
Their Geos aren't for lobbyists; We're G.M/'s big-time operators
And should be driving Hummers like Management impersonators.
