Alberta's End Appears Near
(With its unsustainable carcinogenic tar sands)

How long till lack of water and enough natural gas
Set Steve Harper's Alberta petrostate flat on its ass?
Can he find the financing and political willingness to take the nuclear risk?
Will the sale of radioactive bitumen be sufficiently brisk?

Can Steve prove that gasoline refined from bitumen is carcinogen free?
What added danger do nukes add to his carcinogenic potpourri?
Just like Monsanto Harper has yet to prove
That doctors find his tumors a snap to remove.

Universal healthcare facilitates the procedure
Being repeated as many times as it's needed.
Except in the U.S. where Republican governors
Have blocked Obamacare when they should have seceeded.

Repeating the procedure on the same patients every six months
Should make Canadian oncologists truly expert.
But isn't cancer a disease one expects that one's government
Would make every effort to try to avert?
