Healthcare Reform Assbackwards
Oops, Rahm

Rahm's tried to, but assbackwards,
a much tougher row to plow.
We want our uninsureds insured,
    but Rahm's not figured how.

He's not convinced the Congress,
    and very likely won't.
Insuring more could cost much more,
    so more are saying don't.

Health costs, without insuring more,
    should have been cut first.
Republicans and Blue Dogs
    might well have been coerced

By where and how the cuts were made
    to each profligate insurer
Whose reign must be contained
    and execs made millions poorer.

But years ago McCarren passed
    a law so antitrust
Would not apply to AIG
    or Blue Cross's uppercrust.

We need an act of Congress
to make McCarren null and void,
But that isn't going to happen.
Look by whom Congress is employed.

Campaign contributions from
    McCarran's biggest fans
Quickly put the kibosh on
    antitrust enforcement plans.

As long as Blue Cross owns the Congress,
    their only competition
May be from Rahm Emmanuel
    who belatedly is wishin'

He'd done campaign finance reform
    before the uninsured
And TV audience went through
    the farce we've all endured.
