"Horses, Hatfields & McCoys"

(Rand Paul and his NRA stir up the Kentucky Derby)

Rand Paul's planned a big day for Louisville, Kentucky,
A feud re-enactment with Hatfields and McCoys
At the two thousand thirteen Kentucky Derby.
You'll see horses and actual shootings by those good old boys.

Gun lovers? Horse owners? Who'll be more excited?
Gun lovers to prove no one ever got hurt?
Or horse owners, excited but not that delighted?
If gun lovers are wrong, someone could lose his shirt.

Jockeys are small, minimizing their chances
Of being mistaken for the feud part of the show.
Horses are bigger and might be tempting targets.
Rand's just a Senator. What does he know?

Plus he is a Wayne LaPierre acolyte.
He buys Wayne's pitch that weapons don't kill.

But if one of those thoroughbreds does bite the dust,
His presidential prospects are suddenly nil.

Governor Christie would be terribly saddened
For the loss of the thoroughbred. But one of the Pauls?

Certainly Rand was the least likeable.
But the question remains, which possessed the bigger balls?
