Obama: "Put The Blame On Mame, Boy"
(Harry Truman's bad example)

"Everyone's blaming someone else for what happened,
But few are aware Truman wasn't sincere
When he shamed his successors into proclaiming
That ridiculous nonsense about the buck stopping here.

"It's the economy, stupid. It wasn't my fault.
I simply sat back while Mitch learned to love me.
The fact that he didn't doesn't speak that well of him.
But he'll change his tune when we start speaking Hindi.

"Still I hate how he's knocking the Baucus Health bill.
Think of the months Max spent on the damn thing.
So no Public Option? That was all Mitch's doing.
He's lucky it isn't his butt in the sling.

"So why in the world should my butt end up in it?
Why do folks think I did more on it than Mitch?
Max was determined not to let me contribute
And you've seen how I'd much rather back off than bitch.

"That doesn't mean I won't bitch in my memoir
Unless Mitch decides that he'll do things my way.
Whatever that is – you know I am flexible.
I love my own rhetoric when I've something to say.

"My problem's the followup. Max Baucus is tired
And talks of retiring. His PAC piggybank's full.
These "leadership" PACs beat the heck out of Tim's deal.
Timmy still has to put up with Lloyd Blankfein's bull."
