Reid's Quid Pro Quo
Grappling with the push for a public option

Aetna offered Harry Reid
    free coverage whenever,
And Harry being Harry has
    assumed that meant forever

Because of Aetna's policy
    of charging the deceased,
Ensuring that its profits
    and its bonuses increased.

He loves the implication of
    Reid immortality –
Its positive impact upon
    his seniority.

For him to kill the public option,
    Aetna must be seen as clean;
And, knowing that it isn't,
    Harry's had to intervene.

He's guessing fellow Senators
    will jump at his idea
Of letting Aetna cover
    filibuster diarrhea

Despite the Senate finding
    that Aetna cooks its books,
For which they've said they're sorry
if that's the way it looks.
