South Carolina's Fukushima
(Saying sayonara to Senators Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint)

South Carolina has till two thousand sixteen.
That's when Shaw Areva MOX goes on-line
Risking the release of radioactivity
If allowed to proceed with its faulty design

And all of the shortcuts they've taken on safety
To speed up construction and reduce the cost.
Who can say, despite their so-called "transparency",
If they're wrong, how much of the state will be lost?

Will Graham and DeMint pull a "Dennis Kucinich"
And move out of state by two thousand sixteen?
It's working for Inhofe to avoid more tornadoes –
He denies global warning but lives where they're rarely seen.

How much has it cost in campaign contributions
For Congress to pressure an inept NRC
Whose decision makers should be terminated
If it doesn't blow where they are hoping: out to sea?

Though two of their chief engineers blew the whistle,
Political pressure still said full speed ahead.
This Congress can agree on selling their earmarks
But will Yucca Mountain take DeMint's nuclear dead?
