The Symbolism of Marsha Blackburn
(Pandering to polluters)

Are symbols important to Boehner and Cantor?
If so, what's their symbol for accomplishing beans,
Like a symbolic "victory" over healthcare reform
Or "successful" endorsements of browns and not greens?

Should we be objecting if big corporations
Pay Marsha Blackburn to pander pollution
While denying it might be changing the climate
And monkeys' opinions about evolution.

In Tennessee that is far more disturbing
Than watching North Carolina succumb to the sea
As cities like Nashville and perhaps Chattanooga
Realize God's made them oceanfront property.

In return for removing the tops of those mountains,
What once was green, God and Marsha turned brown.
Could any of this be about coal industry greed?
Or did God buy the merits of Ron's "trickle down"?

But what's trickling down from those hills is acidic
And toxic to animals, people and trees.
So will local monkeys rebel and sprout fins
As they seek relief in the encroaching seas?
