Wasting Laundered Campaign Money
(Ignoring the lies)

Politicians and billionaire donors assume
That we are for sale, that our votes can be bought.
Attack ads? Forget 'em. A big waste of money.
This remote in my hand is no mere afterthought.

We've learned to read lips: "I approve of this message."
That signals the "mute" button, "Bring back the sound."
Even horrible shows like "Harry Loves Lisa"
Beat the Hell out of lies politicians expound.

It's a risk some will take when they choose to change channels
And hate to watch Boehner even when he is "mute."
Can they really prefer Lisa's humongous lips
To John's orange glow? This is no turkey shoot…

This next month is a gamble for all parties concerned:
Big Lips or the "Orange"? But pity Bahrain
As the Chamber of Commerce commingles and flushes
Their money with Murdoch's down the media drain.
