Questions From Bushie's Generals
Being sung by Bushie's Generals to the Cole Porter tune
"I Hate Men"
(I hate men. I can't abide 'em even now and then.)

Why make war?
For most of us commanding's such a chore.
When Bush can't tell us what it's for,
    we use interrogation
And tell our troops to bang on doors
    to scare the population
Into revealing why they think
   that this administration
Went to war.

We'd hate to cross the Delaware
    as did our predecessors
With uniforms mussed up and damp
    and never enough pressers,
And who can stand their meals prepared
    with foreign food processors?
We hate war!

Why make war?
Two terms of Bush and what's worth fighting for?
Since his administration won't
    admit we're getting hotter,
Why build a Freedom Tower whose base
    is six feet under water
While CO2 emissions stay
    much higher than they oughter?
Why this war?

It's hard to raise esprit de corps
    when women wear a burka.
A mid-east tour without the wife
can be a real tear jerker,
Unless you're in command and rate
    a free French social worker.
That's a war?

Why make war?
We never signed on for the blood and gore.
Commanding's now like hitting on
    the girlfriends of the Saudis,
Who in this horrid desert heat
still love to share hot toddies,
Because with photos banned this time,
    we never see the bodies.
We hate war!

The interference that we faced
    from Wolfowitz and Cheney
Precluded making post-war plans –
    we simply weren't that brainy.
Our question now? Was Rummy's firing
    filed as miscellany?
We hate war!
